Mount San Antonio, known locally as Mount Baldy Mount San Gorgonio Mount Shasta - active stratovolcano that is the highest summit of the California Cascade Range Shasta Sticker. The volcano had a major collapse about 35,000 years ago, with major debris avalanches sweeping down the mountain and damming the Rio Chambo and forming a temporary lake. A remarkable find on the north end of Shasta Lake, this series of natural limestone caves reveals an underground world some 250 million years in the making. Built above the Aleutian subduction zone over the last 890,000 years, Redoubt is now heavily glaciated and boasts an ice-filled summit crater.
